What is Shamanic Chinese Medicine / Medical Qi Gong (SCM/MQG)?

"Qi" is often translated as life-force energy, while "Gong" refers to skill, practice, or cultivation. Together, Qigong can be understood as the cultivation of life-force energy through movement, breath, awareness, and practice.

Shamanic Chinese Medicine and Medical Qi Gong draw from ancient Chinese energetic traditions, Qigong, Daoist philosophy, and the "Wu" shamanic practices of ancient China. These traditions work with the body's energetic systems and emphasize cultivating balance, awareness, and the natural flow of Qi.

Today, Qi Gong can be explored as both a personal practice and a practitioner-guided session. The two complement one another: a session offers guided support, while personal practice gives you tools to continue the work for yourself.

The Benefits of Qi Gong Practice

With regular practice, Qigong can support:

  • Strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility
  • Healthy circulation and relaxed breathing
  • Greater calm and reduced everyday stress and tension
  • Emotional balance and mental clarity
  • Deeper body awareness and connection
  • Overall vitality, wellbeing, and healthy aging
  • Qigong is an invitation to cultivate a more harmonious relationship with yourself.

What to Expect in a Session

Clients remain fully clothed and typically lie comfortably on a treatment table. Sessions may include both hands-off work within the energetic fields surrounding the body and, with consent, gentle hands-on work at selected acupressure points or energy centres.

Depending on the session, there may also be sound, meditation, conversation, visualization, or periods of silence.

A 90-minute session includes:

  • 15 minutes — Intake and intention-setting
  • 60 minutes — Practitioner-led session
  • 15 minutes — Integration and discussion

Your session may be experienced in many different ways. Some people notice physical sensations such as warmth, coolness, tingling, heaviness, or subtle movement. Others experience deep relaxation, sleepiness, vivid imagery, emotional release, or simply a sense of stillness. Sometimes, nothing noticeable happens at all. Every experience is different.

With your permission and when appropriate to the session, tuning forks, sound instruments, crystals, or oracle cards may also be incorporated.

Shamanic Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Medical Qi Gong

stacey-der.jpg

I am a Shamanic Chinese Medicine / Medical Qi Gong (SCM/MQG) practitioner based at The Qi Station. Having explored Eastern practices throughout my life, both personally and through formal study, I stepped away from the corporate world to pursue a path that felt more authentically my own.

I bring together Chinese energetic practices, Qi Gong, shamanic principles, sound, vibration, and intuitive tools to create space for personal unfolding — a place to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the wisdom that is already within.
